Eating Disorders
Definition
There are three main types of Eating Disorders, including:
- Binge-eating - out of control eating where one stills eats even after they are full
- Bulimia Nervosa - having periods of binge eating, but throw it up on purpose afterwards
- Anorexia Nervosa - severely restrict food consumption
What are the symptoms of Eating Disorders?
- Binge Eating - excessively large portions of food in a particular time frame, eating when after one is full or not hungry or until one is uncomfortably full, eating fast, eating alone, feeling distressed, ashamed, or guilty about your eating, frequently dieting without any change
- Bulimia - Includes same symptoms over binge eating in addition to purging- making yourself throw up or using drugs to, excessive and intense exercise, fasting.
- Anorexia - Eating very little or starvation, excessive and intense exercise, extreme thinness, intense fear of weight gain, body image distortion.
