A disorder characterized by the presence of two or more distinct personality states.

  • childhood trauma or abuse

Dissociative Idendity Disorder was also known previously as Multiple Personality Disorder.

 

What are the symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder?

Of the many symptoms of Dissociative Identity Disorder, here are a few:
  • The existence of two distinct personality states
  • Consistent gaps of memory about daily events, personal information, and past trauma
  • Distress or problem in social and work settings
